  • The Way of St James: in this tour those elements related to the Way of Saint James are given special emphasis: the cathedral and its most proximate areas (known as 'burgo de la navarrería') is a mandatory stop for pilgrims visiting the region. The first significant religious monument for pilgrims on their way from Roncesvalles, the Pamplona Cathedral hosted the brotherhood of Santa Catalina, founded in the 16th century to tend to needs of the pilgrims. Saint James is represented in several images in the Cathedral.
  • Christmas: the visit to the Pamplona Cathedral Museum is arranged in reference to Christmas, emphasizing the sculptures, tableaux and paintings related to the celebration of the birth of Christ.
  • Marian Theme: the Pamplona Cathedral is dedicated to the Virgin, which is why she is represented in different tableaux, images and sculptures. The museum also exhibits an important amount of Romanesque and Gothic carvings of the Virgin Mary from parishes of the diocese that are either extinguished or unable to preserve these works of art safely. The visit shows us the life of the Virgin described in the tableaux of the cathedral complex, while it also shows through the Marian carvings the sculptural evolution from Romanesque to Gothic, from Gothic to Renaissance and from Renaissance to Baroque.

  • Saint Francis Xavier: Saint Francis Xavier was co founder of Navarra along with Saint Fermin and was named canon of the Pamplona Cathedral. The tour shows the life of the Navarrese saint through the carvings that represent him as well as the reliquary bust preserved in the sacristy. It also explains his relationship with Saint Ignatius of Loyola
  • Relics: this tour is centreed on the relics exhibited in the Pamplona Cathedral (Lignum Crucis, Holy Thorn, Holy Tomb) and on the reliquaries of the saints in the cathedral. An explanation is given about relics: what they are, their significance and the relation between relic and reliquary.
  • Saints' Iconography: thanks to the abundant iconography exhibited in the Pamplona Cathedral Museum, the visitor can discovered which saints were worshipped in Navarra, and specifically in Pamplona. The life of the main saints are also explained in the tour, with emphasis on the main characteristic that represents him or her.
